The pricing on the 2016 models of all flavors is very cheap.
The mpg is great too.
Anybody here driving one?
I've seen the reviews and videos but like to get other feedback.
I do see they are a bit bland but that's not an issue.

Using that criterion, I can't think of very many products that you'd buy including food and clothing.
You wouldn't be able use utilities for natural gas, electricity and water either.
I guess a phone of any kind would be off the table.
Also, who is your ISP?
Mother Theresa?

L O L

OP, they're great cars, but I prefer the new 1.8t as the best blend of performance and efficiency.

Maybe a perception but VW stands out as a vehicle having numerous expensive electrical problems. I could be wrong but when there are bazillions of cheaper more reliable vehicles (IMHO), I'll pass.

LOL!

I have to say I was tempted by the price too, but in the end I decided I had enough of the VW experience. I know there are deals to be had but since I like running past 200k, and can't always work on my own vehicles, paying top dollar for repairs doesn't make sense.

They are super cheap and really high MPG, but i like the 1.8T engine and golf chassis a lot more. I highly suggest Golf over Jetta.

You are an idiot. Samsung for example has just recalled Galaxy Note 7 for a few explosions from the batteries( 35 defects out of 2.5 million sold), VW rigged all their cars, and required government intervention.

Using internet postings as only criteria shows how mentally handicapped you are, go away troll.

If a car company lies to me in order to offer up higher performance than current government mandates allow then i'm ok with that. Especially after they offer very generous buyback and other compensation to owners. I think they have paid the price for their emissions fudge.

Good gas mileage means nothing when the car is in the shop getting fixed all the time.

That's why I got rid of my VW, it got over 38 mpg, my Camry gets 25-26 and is BY FAR WAYYY cheaper to own than that VW. The VW could get 100 mpg and I still wouldn't be ahead.

There comes Nick1994 with his bad old TDI story again. We get it, you had a bad older TDI, that is not relevant at all to current TSI models. We are talking about the #2 world wide volume vehicle seller in the world and their bread and butter engine, the new TSI. Nothing is in common with your experiences. Thanks!

I always wanted one many years ago but the exact reason you cite is why I never pulled the trigger.

Is that because the Golf has a better quality materials inside?
They used to be very upscale at one time.

VW did not really lie to their customers, they just outwitted the authorities responsible for emissions tests as regards their TDI engines.
I regards many of the MPG figures quoted by many car and truck manufacturers as boderline lying, as some were pumping their tyres up to max tyre pressure figures!
Not too many honest vehicle sales managers around, although Merc and Volvo seem good. They don't even play the thin engine oil or even thinner tranny fluid game.

The Golf chassis is the much more advanced MQB platform and the Jetta is not yet using that technology. I firmly believe that the Golf has the best chassis in the whole world right now for what it is, a volume passenger car. The ride is so good and yet can be very sporty if needs be. The cars are super light weight. My Golf Wagon variant had a shipping weight of under 3,000 lb. A weight loss of roughly 10% over the older Jetta Sport wagon model.

The interior is different / better depending on your taste. The jetta isn't bad, its just the Golf is so good.

Oh really? You must have forgotten that there's a 2013 VW Beetle TDI in my garage too, that has had $5,000-$6,000 worth of work done to it in the first 40,000 miles of it's life (not including DSG service and new tires). And it still needs another A/C compressor. No point in taking it back to the dealer, VW is buying it back 11/1/16.

Not a single TDI part has gone bad yet on this car, it has been all standard VW parts.

I think they all have been caught in a scandal or two. Some worse than others, but none of them somehow are the better than others.

Pick what you like.

That said, back when I owned a diesel VW it was well recommended to know who your local TDI guru was. I know nadda about TSI but I do wonder how many shops are equipped to fix them. May not matter of the OP isn't looking for a forever car.
