VW doing away with touch screens.

The difference between you and me is I admit to my mistakes instead of blaming others. It's called conversation and supporting one's points. You risk losing credibility and more importantly your quality information that way.
If you said "omitted one word" in the 1st place readers would understand; you chose otherwise.
You lost credibility a long time ago you are a phony supposed car guy.

However, I get that it is what it is. Tesla is not going to change the Model 3 or Model Y to employ more physical switches and buttons. But I'm thinking it would be pretty simple to just enable voice controls for the headlights or to program in a simple control on the touchscreen at the upper left corner. But for the most part it's a small concern. I don't like the idea of doing multiple touchscreen presses and possibly taking my eye off the road to just turn on the headlights, but it can be done. I happen to think it could be made simpler.
Of course Tesla won’t do it. We are talking VW. VW etc. thought they can cut cost and sell same BS. It didn’t work.

I believe Tesla has been working on a headlight on/off/auto/bright voice command for years. If true, it is difficult to understand what the problem is. Surprising...
Here is solution. It is ok, Musk can claim it he invented it. It will get cult fallowing, and people might turn lights when needed, to feel more “Musky.”

The cutest thing to me is car guys insulting guys calling them supposed car guys. What give you the right to decide if someone's choice in cars ruins their credibility as a car guy? What a joke. By joke I mean you.

I honestly think they thought they could be edgy and modern by doing it and any cost savings was just to be a benefit. The problem is that I have driven the MK8 GTI and while I liked the car, I didn't like actually operating as much as my current GTI. I know I don't have much for buttons in the Tesla. That's fine to me, that's what Tesla does. VW on the other hand had a nearly flawless control setup before this so it was not an improvement.

They did have flawless set up. I saw interior of updated Atlas, and just got slightly used. It is horrible! If they just put controls like before, arrange them to fit new design, all would be fine.

I was going to wait for a MK8 but settled on my MK7.5 certified preowned just over 2 years ago. I think I made the right choice.

They are retaining touchscreen. They are moving basic controls to physical (HVAC etc.).
The controls on my 2021.5 atlas are a very nice mix of physical, haptic, and touchscreen.

Incredibly intuitive.

I think this return is well worth it. People don’t want to fiddle with HVAC screens. Or volume sliders,
