VOTE TODAY!

Its an off off election year. The only thing half interesting is a new mayor for NYC and I live upstate.

OK, the highway dept. superintendent is being elected in my town. First I think he should be an employee hired by the town board, not elected. Second I live on a dirt road and he is the highway superintendent. Maybe there should be a dirt road superintendent?

I will probably vote however. So there will be at least one NO vote for casinos in NY state.

Many of our town officials are running unopposed; frankly not sure how blue or red a town clerk can be... Most likely a popularity contest @ the local level.

Nothing going on in the City of Goleta. Santa Barbara has elections, but we don't get to vote in them, just get to babysit their airport and college students.

Originally from San Luis Obispo. This made me chuckle!

I didn't even know about any elections today. Oh well.

Elections like this are when a fresh Libertarian candidate can get in there and probably have a good run when somebody is unopposed like that.

NYC is the next Detroit...as long as that pension bomb keeps ticking away.

I'm in Central NY (Upstate) and it already is Deeeetroit in this city.
- All industry has moved out
- City is running out of money
- Crime is out of control (we have lost the south and west side)

It's why I left the 'cuse 11 years ago, and just got my mom out of there too.

Only locals would get it. I live in the neighborhood that becomes the parking lot for the Isla Vista Halloween underage drinking contest, so ya, not happy with it.

So how'd you do?

If 1 or 2 things fall in line, I'll be on a Ballot for a major position next November.

Thank you. That's the WORST abomination up this way. They don't even pump any money back into the economy up here. The only thing good about that place is the buffet. Then it's still $35+ for two people.

Too bad. Syracuse used to be a nice place to live. It seemed it really tanked in the early 90s. I remember visiting family when I was little. Thought about moving closer but as you said all industry is gone. Is Carrier even there anymore?? Let's keep running business away with outrages taxes and [censored], NYS! Lets make sure we keep sending jobs overseas too!
