Georgia shelled Russian villages after attack on Russian border patrol, advanced in, got their rear handed back to them.

Crimea had a referendum according to international laws and rules, about 90% voted to join back in with Russia, the region was 'gifted ' to Ukraine when it was part of USSR by Khrushchev. Not a single casualty with Crimea joining back with Russia
15 - invaded Syria to side with the dictator Basher al Assad in Syria's civil war
Syria asked Russia multiple times to come in for their protection against illegal US and NATO invasion. Russia is the only country in Syria with legal status
Eastern Ukraine, referendum, asked Russia to join it and to intervene after 8 years of civil war
