Since it likely won't make the headlines I thought I'd mention that Volkswagen now claims 5 of the top 10 spots in the IIHS crash test results.

Three Audi and Two VW products performed tops in their respective classes for crash-test safety.

I saw that on CNN. I want to know what other models and makes were tested.

Strange that the A8 wasn't mentioned? I'm pretty sure it's superior to the A6 in terms of safety.

And Ford took home trophey!

The gold award went to the 500/Montego.

Audi/VW got silver.

Think there will be a police cruiser version of the 500 soon?

Doesn't the 500 closely resemble a Passat? Not that it would surprise me, because VW and Ford have been and still are making some identical vehicles. Like the Galaxy/Sharan. Of course, the Galaxy was the one with the engine fires...

J Mays left VAG and came to Ford.
He was their design director, and now is Ford's worldwide design director.

He styled the Passat, makes sense that the bread-and-butter Five Hundred has an identical profile to the Passat.

Saw Mays on a TV show on Concept Vehicles. It was better then I expected. So, how do the Korean cars fare in the crash-test? I hear they are more reliable now.
