This is a VOA of Febi-Bilstein ATF that meets the MB 236.12 spec for use specifically in certain Damiler NAG1 transmissions.

It is blended by Pentosin - it is my understanding that it is the same fluid that is packaged and sold by both Mercedes and Chrysler (Mopar)

This fluid is spec'd for the NAG1 transmissions used specifically in the Chrysler Crossfire and MB/Freightliner/Dodge Sprinter, owning to special friction material used in the clutch packs in these vehicles.

That is interesting.
What also interests me is that my mom's 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee has a NAG1 transmission, but it says to use ATF+4 only.

How much different is this from ATF+4?

No idea ....

But apparently it's different enough for them to recommend the special fluid - which, BTW, is very special - at the Dodge dealer it's about $20 (or more) per quart

The fluid sampled above was sourced aftermarket and was a bargain, at a mere $13.50 per liter.

The Sprinter NAG1's are produced in the Fatherland, and like I said, some of the friction material in the clutch packs in the NAG1's used in the Sprinter and Crossfire is supposedly different than other NAG1's.

For ATF, my service manual calls for the following:

"Use ATF approved to MB 236.10, MB 236.12, such as Shell ATF 3403/M-115, MOPAR part number 05127382AA, Fuchs/Shell ATF 3353, or equivalent."

I believe that the Mopar number mentioned above has now been superseded to an AB p/n, and that the fluid has been reformulated to meet MB 236.14 providing compatibility with the newer 7 speed transmissions.
