Viscosity change with MMO in B&S Quantum?

Been successfully using MaxLife 10W30 in my 'ole B&S Quantum based push mower as was suggested here awhile back and just started adding a couple ounces of MMO to the sump a few weeks ago. Should I also be considering changing oil viscosity now that the MMO is in play?

Depends on the % of MMO. Sounds like you did not put enough in to make the switch, especially that you're in MI...

Since the viscosity is already a 30 weight and the sump is only 20 ounces, I'd step up to a 5W-40, HD40, or 10W-40 to combat dilution. As tpitcher said, however, it's Michigan, so it's really your call as long as the MMO isn't too heavily applied.

The fact that you worry about means you probably change it more often than most. Some people I know/knew, the mower was lucky to see a change every few season! Besides, when it wear itself out after a few years, you can just keep adding and never have to worry about changing it again! Haha

I had my eye on about a 10% concentration, but with the recent talk about 40w thought I'd ask and see if I should be leary about getting a little too thin, especially with the smallish sump. I've got a ways to go before I've used up the MaxLife I already have, but will look at a slightly thicker formulation when the time comes. And yea... I change it a couple times during our summer period.
