Decided to cut and post instead of using. The bottom of the can was dented during shipping. Probably not a big deal and was curious to how well it was made. Bought a Purolator Boss to replace it.

Looks good, thank you for sharing.

Did they issue a refund for damage during shipping?

Decent looking filter but for a few more bucks I’d upgrade to the Boss if your gonna buy Purolator
I’m ok eating the cost
Glad to share the info 👍

I noticed when they went from 10,000 mile to 15,000 mile rating the filters got a whiter color. I'm going to assume that means it received more synthetic media.

I’d say your correct

Yes
If your gonna make a 15K mile or more run on a filter
The Boss is a better choice
Purolator One is rated 15K miles - it's on the box, and it's more efficient than the Boss. Ultra has better efficiency, is rated 20K miles (better holding capacity) and probably about the same price. A 15K run in an Ultra leaves some extra headroom.

Is the Ultra still a wire back mesh filter media ??
Some models are still wire backed, might be older stock. The new Ultra non-wire backed media seems to get a bit wavy after use, no tearing ever reported. But wavy pleats are just a visual thing, doesn't impact performance.

Is there any backing at all like the Purolator Boss nylon type stuff ??

Nope the new ones are a layer of the glass fiber over the top of cellulose that's probably the same as what's used in a ToughGaurd. The only ones that I know are still backed are cartridges all the spin-ons are no longer backed unless you get old stock produced in early 2021 or before.

Spending your money
Which filter would you buy ???

Boss or Ultra ??
Fram Ultra. No it doesn't have the wire backing anymore but it honestly doesn't matter. Every single cut and post of a used Ultra has shown the pleats to be a little wavy but it doesn't matter as long as it doesn't tear or collapse which it hardly ever will. Something would have to fail in the engine for it to happen like a failed emergency relief valve in the pump.
