The moment everyone has been waiting for. A Allied Signal Tough Guard, Canadian made 4967 with 18k on it. Installed October 2021 also. Wavy pleats I attribute to winter and our up and down monsoon rainy weather here in southwest PA. Oils used were Citgo made 10w30 HDEO, HPL 30w cleaner and some clearance oils such as Valvoline white bottle 10w30, 10w40 and even ancient All Climate 20w50 Valvoline dads friend gave me. Recently it’s been using Mobil Super 10w30 and Providence 5w/10w30 blend. What you don’t see in some end is decent amount of carbon bits. I hope to spread media out this week. The 2AZ-FE engine IMO opinion is harsh on oil. Opinions will vary. By mid week this vehicle will be gone. I can’t afford to continuously dump oil in this pig. Current fill is more Mobil Super 5k 10w30 and same date code Allied Signal 4967 filter. Car is 09’ Camry LE

Enjoy the photos

Love that sturdy looking center tube! (y) The next generation to present looks really flimsy and cheap.

Thank You for deciphering it zeeOSix
Anyone can decipher using the Date Code on may different brand oil filters using the sticky thread in the Oil Filter forum.

It's much older than 2012, It's the really old can paint, still says Allied Signal, and has no Sure grip, it's probably from the late 90s or very early 2000s before the Suregrip coating.
The date code has a "2" for the year field ... so it's either 2002 or 2012. From what you're saying, sounds like 2002.

The only thing is that the Fram website all the way back in October 2001 shows the Tough Guard with Suregrip, I even looked at the source of the page and that image was archived on 8/22/2001, and I think I remember someone contacting Fram Technical and even they weren't exactly sure of the date format on filters that were this old.

Zee and Blufeb95: do we know when Fram went from Allied Signal to whatever or Honeywell?

Thank You

You two know tons more on stuff than I do so I appreciate your knowledge 👍🍻🍻🇺🇸🇨🇦
I think the Allied Signal branding may have been used up until 04-05ish, even though Honeywell bought them around 99-2000
