Thought someone may be interested in this vintage AC delco filter I came across at a thrift store.

Looks like it was originally $2.65 at a store called Nation Wise, and it's manufacturing in England. Anyone know the year it was made?

possibly between 88 & 90. wow even back then they mentioned hotter engine temperatures, tighter engine clearances and high flow rates. so we've seen no real change in filtration fast forward nearly 40 years. did they have silicone gaskets and adbv's then? if not equipped in the engines design.

Per the Googles, NationWise went bankrupt in 1995 and splitting the application dates on the box, early 1990's like @mrsilv04 mentioned would be the best guess.

That was back when AC-Delco actually owned and manufactured most of their own parts before GM sold and spun them and Delphi off in 1999 and became basically a brand management company that slapped their name on other peoples parts.

I can remember these oil filters back then being sold by Wal-Mart and were a step up from the SuperTech ones. They had a pretty heavy gauge build to them.

Interesting that the box says it's for the GM V6 (except 2.8L). That's weird, because PF47 is/was specified for a LOT of 2.8 cars.

Lots of us use the longer PF52 instead, but the owner's manuals say PF47.

Don't even see a copyright date on the box to give an idea. Did see this on the box: "Up to 50% less engine wear". Come on ... we know oil filter efficiency doesn't matter wrt to engine wear ... 😄 [s/]
