Enjoyed watching this video of a man who dug and installed a shallow water well. Video is about 10 minutes long and an easy watch for a Saturday night.

I was surprised reliable water could be found so shallow. The water "Witcher" is something I am going to google- try to understand if they are con men or what.

85 psi, pump runs on solar- pretty cool for a remote location.

Well, I can witch water with #6 copper wire. I can also find water lines and field tiles.

Dad was going to dig a new well, and had a guy come in and witch a pasture for water. He then removed all of the markings and mowed the pasture, and then set me loose. I had indications in the same area. Hit water at 80 feet.

So, I guess I am a con man or what.

I grew up in a house with a well like that. It was between 25 and 30 feet deep. When Dad bought the house, he had the water tested and it failed due to coliform bacteria. Dad dumped a bottle of bleach in and scrubbed the sides of the casing with a bristle brush in a pole, pumped the well as dry as he could a few times and it tested good every time after that. I still miss the taste of that water.

Some of my relatives were water diviners back in the 40s and 50s, one of them was good enough that they had a government contract. Unfortunately I didn’t get the gift, although I’ve never really tried.
