This thread can be a place to say thanks to our veterans and to remember those who have gone before.

Without the sacrifices of veterans, we'd all be in a pretty bad position. Peace on earth is a great ideal, but as long as things are the way they've always been we'll need brave people to stand up and give of themselves for their countrymen. Don't think the rest of us don't realise how much we owe you.

Yes! *BIG* Thanks to all who serve, both past & present.

A special thanks to all American veterans living and passed on. I want to give a shout out to BITOG member and Vietnam vet JimR from North Carolina and to Frank Buckles who is 109 years old and is America's last surviving World War 1 veteran.

We are profoundly indebted to veterans for their service to our nation.

From Eisenhower's proclamation of the first Veteran's Day:

God Bless our Troops.

I'll be calling my son today and thanking him! Thanks to all those who served!

Thank you Chris (Hemi426) for the Veterans Day greeting, I certainly appreciate it.

I want to extend my special thank you to all veterans today and everyday.

If it wasn't for you, we wouldn't be enjoying all the freedoms we have and everything we take for granted each day.

I salute all of you, but especially the veterans of WWII (my father) who fought and died to provide us with our current lifestyle.

Jim

Thank you to all of the vets and those still on active duty. I served with some of the best guys I've ever known when I was in the Army.

And also... Happy Independence Day to our friends and allies in central and eastern Europe and happy Armistice Day to our friends and allies just about everywhere else!
