Very hot today

Wow it's sunny, 101 F and 104 F heat index here. If that's not a recorded for this date it's got to be close. It's also been very dry lately.

We know about the warm winter and spring, and it was hot last Summer but not so dry too.

70 here today, expected to be 70 tomorrow and Saturday, then a cooling trend. Down to 68 on Sunday then 64 on Monday and Tuesday. We have the doors all open and the fans blowing at work.

Nice. The normal high here would be about 83 I think which is quite comfortable for me unless the humidity is really high which isn't uncommon here. 104 would be considered sort of a hot day even in north TX or the south as I remember it.

Took a breather because my clothes were soaked and no breeze to take away the sweat....

103ºF outside, 120ºF on our pilot line without taking the heat index into account. Only spent a few hours out there today and was soaked within minutes every time. I spent all day Monday & Tuesday in one of our plants in nothern Mississippi and it seemed cool and dry compared to how it is here today!

I wish they'd spend money air conditioning it in the summer and not bothering to heat it in the winter - if you're out there working on a press you stay plenty warm.

It's going to be another scorcher.

Make sure your coolant system is ready to go. Check hoses and have some cash put away for an emergency fix to your A/C.

And have water. Lots and Lots of Water!

It's a little warmer down in Irvine, 77 today and expect to be 80 tomorrow, then cooling down to mid-70's next week.

my home indoor outdoor guage was reading 106 about 1pm (i think its a little off though) My truck was reading a outside temp of 102 at 3:30pm bloody HOT for Indiana !

BTW it 105.6 on the indoor outdoor in the shade. Its usually accurate within 2 degrees

I'm fine with anything up to 87 (for summer) or so and after that I'm annoyed.

I have a question about this whole "heat index" thing.

Like the windchill, it seems to be a way to make things seem worse than they are. For instance, in my neck of the woods it's in the low 100's with low humidity and wind gusts to 25 mph. Why isn't there a wind chill to make it feel cooler? With wind and low humidity, there has to be some evaporative cooling.

Today it feels hot, but not oppressive like last July when it was so (typically) humid.
