That door is similar to a commercial roll-up type and keeps the thinner panels rolled around the tension rod within that decorative cover. More than likely has the motor direct drive the rod from the side to keep it compact. Our Public Works has a 5 bay shop and uses these type doors, albeit much taller and not as purty. Hardly ever saw them go down or need repairs. The door "panel" strips were aluminum and didn't weigh a lot.
Edit: I was wrong, the panels are "stored" in the "magazine" in a stacked fashion. Pretty cool.
