I listed my VStar today. Received several text message inquiries about it. Every one so far after asking questions about the bike has asked for a vehicle report and sent a link. Of course the reports cost money. I googled the links and they’re all scams. Ugh. It’s been several years since I’ve listed a vehicle, no issues with scammers then. The internet is the Wild West now.

Now? The internet has always been the Wild West.

I have had no luck with vehicle purchases or sales on the internet as well. Just resort to dealerships.
My recent experience was pretty good. I just sold one of my Scions on Facebook Marketplace. I had some idiotic lowball offers and plenty of “Is it available” messages that never replied back, but I also had two people come and drive it. Both drove about a hour because I’m in the boonies. The second guy paid the asking price in cash right on the spot.

I didn’t get any of the scam vin check messages. I guess they don’t bother for a $3000 car.
