OK, My Triton 4.6 has quite a bit of deposits and is entirely varnished under valve covers.
My question: Is this varnish and the other carbon like stuff caused solely from a loss in TBN, ergo the oil gone acidic?
I went a year between oil changes for 5 oil changes at 20k HWY miles/year ( Amsoil- no oil analysis). At 125k I looked into oil fill in valve cover, and saw this.
I'm wondering about the wear, and right now I'm into 1000 miles on the cleaning cleaning phase of Auto RX.
