Here is the current selection at my Home Depot. Dewalt has a “ Commercial ” gas mower and Club Cadet has a gas push mower. Milwaukee has their electric “FUEL” mower on display. Enjoy.

Picked up the Milwaukee last year after my 12 yo Honda passed away. Had already invested in Milwaukee tools a few years prior so after reading reviews on the mower, it wasn’t a difficult decision.

I had a Cub SC100. Good mower and I liked it until getting old. Now I hire it done.

Only complaint was the engine oil drain plug. Oil ran out right onto the deck. :(

They are designed to drain the oil through the dipstick tube by tipping the mower on its side. This may be the one innovation that Honda copied from Briggs rather than the other way around.

Look like the same mower with different paint, though I do think the dewalt has single point height adjustment.

I'm sure it is all MTD with possible exception of the Milwaukee.

The best mowers and riders are sold at dealers, not retail stores such as Home Depot and Lowes.
A JD 100 series riding mower, for example, will be exactly the same whether you buy it at a dealer or big box store. Same with push mowers. Yeah, dealers will carry the higher end models, but that’s about it.

I’d put my money on the dealer prepping/assembling it properly vs the store however.

At least here they all come through Ag Pro, they even started putting stickers on them at both Home Depot and Lowe’s.

When I ordered a 42” 708cc Toro zero turn from Home Depot online (May 2020, peak COVID, low supply) it was prepped and delivered by a local power equipment company. It’s been perfect. Price jumped 40% 12 months later. Got lucky.

Went into Lowes earlier this week and was perusing them when a guy came out and started throwing car sales lines at me (0% for 36 months!), went inside and saw a dude pretending to mow his lawn sitting on a display.

Reason I was hanging around the mowers, last weekend mowed my yard and went to do the yearly change of the oil on my 10 year old Ariens 19hp 42" riding; oil all over the frame and just a hair touching the dipstick. Poured an entire bottle of Lucas in the crank, topped off with franken oil; tightened the fitting on the drain plug mount, and started shopping. Mowed the lawn again this week, worked perfectly and maybe even better; assuming the Lucas helped with sealing the rings. If my Ariens won't die I won't get to go shopping until they're hydrogen powered but at least my wallet is happy.
