Valvoline VR1 SAE 30

I have chosen Valvoline VR1 SAE 30 to use in my older flat tappet engine.
Does this product had good ZDDP levels?

Yes it has plenty of ZDDP. Good choice IMOP, I think it will only be good down to somewhere in the 30-40F range. If it gets cold buy the VR1 10w30 flavor.

Unless you're running some crazy spring pressure/lift it has plenty.

It does, however, not every flat tappet engine requires elevated levels of ZDDP, so in many cases a synthetic multi grade would be a better choice.

Great choice for 30. If you have doubts about the ZDDP content (which you shouldn't), you can take comfort in knowing you've got the HTHS and film strength to back it up.

Let others play with the trendy, widest-spread-possible, chic, po-mo multigrades in their own expensive equipment.
