Here are some pics of a Valvoline VO58 with about 500 miles on it from Valvoline quick lube place. I swapped it out for a larger L25288. It's of off the 06 2500hd below. A small filter for a 6.0 imo. But overall looks well made, the base plate is very thick.

Looks to have a decent amount of media area actually.

Looks like a typical Purolator 'made for', much like QS, Pz, and commercial Group7 and ProMotive. Like those it's most likely a consolidated/downsized application that combines several applications to the smallest size.

I take it you took it off after 500 miles to install the larger standard Classic(L) filter. While the smaller size wouldn't be my preference either it would likely have been fine for a normal oci.

Thanks for the pics.

The media fully stretched out is approximately 2 7/16" * 49" or approximately 119 square inches with 58 pleats.

No problem. I'm sure the tiny filter is ok but I already had the larger already on hand.
I don't drive this truck but I will make the drive tell the lube jockey next time that it is a 2001. That year is spec'd for the VO108 which is/equivalent of a L25288.

Nice media surface area!! Well constructed purolator classic design. I like those filters.

Of course, everyone here is focused on the construction, but no one has said a darn thing about efficiency - which is far more important than construction.

If it's a classic clone the efficiency ratings are perfectly acceptable to me. Not the 99% @ 20 microns that some crave, but not your 67% @ 40 microns either

True that but efficiency doesn't make for very good filter porn hah hah.

And just because it's clearly a Classic clone you can't assume efficiency ratings either, the Motorcrafts are in many ways similar but are about 93-94 percent vs Classics 97 percent.

Page unavailable.

True about efficiency being important though. Gotta love those Toyota and Honda OEM's then at ~51 and ~67 @ 20um respectively. Now that's good construction and excellent efficiency in one package.

I'll bet the OP's Puro made for filter, if like other Puro made fors is at worst low 90's@20um and solid construction. Not too shabby.
