I sent a question regarding Valvoline Synpower to Mercedes-Benz; following is their response. I have never seen this oil, has anyone else?

Thank you for your internet correspondence.

If you would like to use Valvoline synthetic oil for your vehicle, we
only
recommend using Valvoline SynPower MXL 0W-30. Please contact us at
1(800)FOR-MERCedes for a Factory Approved Service Products booklet for
a
full list of the synthetic oils we recommend.

The opportunity to review this matter and to correspond is appreciated.

Sincerely,

Very-very few Euro-type oils are here in the states. You may want to ask you nearest Mercedes dealer where to find it locally. Or call Ashland the oil producer. Probably find the phone number at valvoline.com

Why wouldn't you just use GC if you are going to go 0w30?? It is no doubt a better oil and autozone carry's it.

GC OW30 is API SL, don't remember the GF rating (3?4?), but maybe there are other specs it doesn't meet? I'm not sure Mercedes cares much about API, but ILSAC surely matters..
