Hi all. First time poster, long time lurker. Here is an attempt at posting my most recent report for my wife's daily driver. Approx. 70 mi round trip a day, 90% highway.

6/8/08 Valvoline Synpower 5W-30
2/9/08 Motorcraft 5W-20
10/28/07 Valvoline Synpower 5W-30
7/15/07 Castrol Syntec Blend 5W-30

That's a nice looking report...wear is in check and insolubles are low. I'd stick with the Synpower and take it out to a 10k OCI +UOA unless your driving style changes. It's good to see Valvoline run out this far...you got your money out of it. The only question I have is when are you adding your 1/2 quart of make-up oil?

Impressive! Gotta love the Honda 2.4L. Sypower is an underrated oil IMO.

I am not trying to take anything away from this oil, as all the oils did good. BUT, that kind of 'miles' put on an engine is the best thing for them. That thing will last forever driven like that. Such low wear numbers.

Looks Great IMHO!
My wife and I both run 100 miles daily (price to pay to be close to family) and these UOAs look similar to our UOAs. I've been running 12K+ on PP but put in the SynPower just the other night. Planning on running it up to the same OCI.

Thanks for the reports.

good to see . Just put the 5w-30 SYNPOWER in the '08 YARIS Liftback about 1,800 miles ago . It's a SIN to empty the SYN at 5,000 mile or 6 month intervals due to TOYOTA warranty . THANKS for the post .

Isn't 10,000 miles the recommended OCI for that kind of driving? All the oils looked good even though the miles per oil change differed.

pickled the make up oil is going in around the 5-6000 mile mark. Any chance that is significantly helping my TBN or Visc. numbers?

nice report.. i am glad i stocked up on synpower :-).. 10w30 though. shouldnt be that much of a difference in my 3.4 tacoma 4x4 with 90% highway also.. ill change mine at 7-8k miles though due to paranoia

Syn oil is really not needed for 6 month 5,000 mile oil changes it really is not what syn oil is for.

Correct, as far as I know it's just a rebadged Premium Plus. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong as I'm not 100% on it being a PP, but I know it's made by Purolator and looks identical.

yea me too. When AAP had the BOGO sale, I bought a few cases of it myself. I can't wait to finish the ARX cycle in my Tundra 3.4 L so I can put the Synpower back in it.

Looks great and you could probably make it to 12K on this oil. I think the oil is doing just fine in this application and usage model! If the price is right and avialability is good keep useing this!
