Valvoline Restore and Protect

Except it’s $4/qt at AutoZone. So about half the cost.
VRP is $7.2 per Quart at WM in the 5 Qt jugs. And, the performance is what matters. An oil change savings of $16 every few months is not a big deal. You want the better performing oil. Saving money here and potentially having worse long-term ownership results isn't worth it. Cheap insurance for a well running machine. Save money elsewhere rather than potentially developing oil consumption and spending the money on top off oil anyway. This is the way.

I'm getting impressed with this oil. Started using it last year in my 97 Volvo 960 which has a 24 valve, 3.0 liter inline six. It has 153K miles on it and was fed Mobil 1 for at least the last twenty years. It's a dedicated highway car, which means all highway with the cruise control set ninety five plus percent of the time at 55-65 mph. Last year the first fill with R&P the oil was very dirty within 1,000 miles or so, and got darker as the miles went on. Plus I had to add an additional one and a half quarts last year. Did my once a year oil change at around 4,000 miles on the first fill and refilled with R&P. I have around 1,200 miles on it and the oil only has a slight discoloration. Highway gas mileage has gone up also about one to one and half mpg. The best part is I haven't had to add any oil so far on this second fill.

Got Valvoline Restore and Protect 10W-40 from Auto Zone today. Using it in the Kawasaki FS691V. Will let everyone know how it works in time.
