Valvoline Restore and Protect

I'm still reading on other forums that it's snake oil, wallet flush, advertising scam, it's just kerosene, can't possibly work, it's just transmission fluid in the oil, and I've decided and refuse to believe it's possible because I'm a (Richard's nickname) and choose to be stupid.
Well, don't argue with them. Just let them bask in their ignorance while we know technology moves on and the Earth isn't flat.

Probably the same group that thinks all the photos taken from Artemis are all faked (Flat Eathers), and all the people showing proof that Valvoline Restore and Protect cleans up engines is all staged and fake too (Capricorn One syndrome). 😄

Greeks knew the Earth was round and Eratosthenes of Cyrene accurately calculated the diameter and circumference of the Earth in the 3rd Century BC. Democritus developed the theory of Atoms making up matter in the 5th Century BC. Today we have technological mechanisms to prove they were correct yet, people don't believe an oil can clean rings. 🙈🙉🙊🌭

*Interesting Valvoline Restore and Protect Report : Upon draining Valvoline Restore and Protect 5W30 out of Kia Seltos (3rd straight Valvoline Restore and Protect OCI) at 5,000 miles two things stood out to me . First, the Valvoline Restore and Protect oil looked cleaner than I thought it would look like and cleaner than former oils looked at the same mileage. Second, the drained Valvoline Restore and Protect has taken on a reddish / burgundy color ? The oil color appears different than the amber Valvoline Restore and Protect color going in a new fill . Oil consumption is trending down with the 3rd straight Valvoline Restore and Protect OCI, so hoping for more of the same with the current 4th straight Valvoline Restore and Protect fill and the 5th Valvoline Restore and Protect OCI to follow that.

Could be reddish from removing varnish which is a reddish color when baked on parts. Did you ever look down in the valve cover, and if so was there varnish on the valve train?
Sounds good to try - Kia fill holes are difficult to look down with the naked eye as there is a plate of some sort blocking the view. My former Buick was very easy to look down the fill hole to view rocker arms and such (lol !)

Really great news. Remind me how much you were burning, for how long, and how many total miles? Great data point.

My latest Valvoline Restore and Protect drain also showed a reddish hue. This is in a pretty clean engine that doesn't burn a drop though. I can't see much through the fill hole though to see if there's any varnish, but the drained oil was distinctly red.

I just did my 4th oil change of Valvoline Restore and Protect recently and finally got around to cutting the filter apart today from our Audi Q7 3.0T V6 CREC engine. Surprisingly I'm still finding a great deal of carbon particles in the filter pleats. This is the 5th oil filter that's come out of it since the swap to Valvoline Restore and Protect, (the first few filters I changed out early and glad I did) and every single one has had carbon debris in it, the first couple were loaded with what I'd call heavy carbon deposits. So the Valvoline Restore and Protect is still cleaning things up. It went from consuming a quart in 400 miles to using no oil in 5000-6000 mile intervals after doing a Berrymans B12 piston soak and the switch to Valvoline Restore and Protect.

The plan is to continue to use Valvoline Restore and Protect well into the foreseeable future and for the remainder of the vehicles life. If we were going to take a long road trip where I was going to run it over 6000 miles, I would swap to Mobil 1 Extended Performance 0w30 for that road trip, then switch right back to the Valvoline Restore and Protect. This 3.0t runs so incredibly good on the Valvoline Restore and Protect its crazy. Fuel mileage is up nicely and it ides so smooth and quiet, I absolutely can not tell the engines running unless I look at the tach. I'm in awe of this stuff and have it in every vehicle I own now. Going to put it in my Honda Pioneer 1000 side by side and my GoldWing too!

Hard to tell by the photo, but there is a black layer of extra fine small carbon imbedded in the filter, and there are larger carbon bits also in the filter pleats throughout the filter. This was the 5th filter pulled out and I ran it for a full 6000 mile interval. 3rd interval of Valvoline Restore and Protect.

This was the first filter I pulled out of it at 1500 miles after the switch to the first interval of Valvoline Restore and Protect .

What gasoline are you using? I used Amsoil Signature Series and Shell premium from when I first bought my 2025 Pilot. After it's second oil change, I decided to "save a few bucks", since the owner's manual showed the recommended fuel was 87 octane, Top Tier certified, so switched to Quik Trip regular, TT certified. When I cut my filter open after 5.6k miles of using regular, it looked very similar to yours. I've switched back to using Shell premium.

I've done one oil change since then, and it was only 3k miles when I switched from Amsoil to HPL Premium Plus PCMO. The pleats had a little residual carbon, but minuscule compared to a full OCI running Quik Trip regular gasoline.

Not all Top Tier fuels are created equal.

Just started my third change with Valvoline Restore and Protect. First two were changed out when the Honda OLM was at 0% so and the next two will be the same.

And let me edit to say 2015 Honda Crosstour EX with the K24. 173k miles.

I ended up my five run streak on Valvoline Restore and Protect last weekend. Last OCI was longer than planned at 5400mi. Wally did not have Valvoline Restore and Protect 5w30 in stock, so I opted for the Mobil 1 Euro 0w30 version. 2016 JGC 3.6 currently @ ~131k.

Did you see any improvement/changes/cleaning after 5 runs of Valvoline Restore and Protect?

Currently on my 4th with 2AZ FE Pontiac vibe GT 2009 catless and ecu reflash as well..

So far haven’t really noticed THAT much of a difference

We shall see on this 4th one but so far it was a pig at 800-1000 Kms before a huge GULP
