I just did my 4th oil change of Valvoline Restore and Protect recently and finally got around to cutting the filter apart today from our Audi Q7 3.0T V6 CREC engine. Surprisingly I'm still finding a great deal of carbon particles in the filter pleats. This is the 5th oil filter that's come out of it since the swap to Valvoline Restore and Protect, (the first few filters I changed out early and glad I did) and every single one has had carbon debris in it, the first couple were loaded with what I'd call heavy carbon deposits. So the Valvoline Restore and Protect is still cleaning things up. It went from consuming a quart in 400 miles to using no oil in 5000-6000 mile intervals after doing a Berrymans B12 piston soak and the switch to Valvoline Restore and Protect.
The plan is to continue to use Valvoline Restore and Protect well into the foreseeable future and for the remainder of the vehicles life. If we were going to take a long road trip where I was going to run it over 6000 miles, I would swap to Mobil 1 Extended Performance 0w30 for that road trip, then switch right back to the Valvoline Restore and Protect. This 3.0t runs so incredibly good on the Valvoline Restore and Protect its crazy. Fuel mileage is up nicely and it ides so smooth and quiet, I absolutely can not tell the engines running unless I look at the tach. I'm in awe of this stuff and have it in every vehicle I own now. Going to put it in my Honda Pioneer 1000 side by side and my GoldWing too!
Hard to tell by the photo, but there is a black layer of extra fine small carbon imbedded in the filter, and there are larger carbon bits also in the filter pleats throughout the filter. This was the 5th filter pulled out and I ran it for a full 6000 mile interval. 3rd interval of Valvoline Restore and Protect.

This was the first filter I pulled out of it at 1500 miles after the switch to the first interval of Valvoline Restore and Protect .
