valvoline durablend mxl 5w-40

Does anyone know if this is available in the US. It seems to be one of the few blends that are VW 502 approved. This would be cheaper than using full synthetic in my 1.8T passat every 5000 miles.

No, not in USA. DuraBlend 10w-40 used to carry A3-spec and some Audi dealers use it.

In FL you could use a 15w-40, Chevron Delo carried the A3 spec too. A3 is the basis for VW 502. Clean 7500 or Motorcraft would be good as well as Havoline. 10w-40 is totally fine in your climate, but not as good as 15w-40. If you really love your car, do an Auto-Rx treatment.

Durablend comes in 15w40 which also was ACEA A3 in the SL.
