I think you mean clearances.
And the Ford modular clearances are the same for a given engine regardless of the continent they are on. That is but one example!
We have CAFE in North America. The rest of the world does not. I think that is a big reason for the push to lighter and lighter oils, with only the ultra-high performance members of a given engine family getting spec'd for the heavier stuff because their low sales have an insignificant impact upon CAFE.
