I'm replacing my valve covers on my 13 Ford Edge 3.5, Do you guys recommend, going FOMOCO or aftermarket is okay? Or is the plastic, much thinner?
Thanks

Think about plugs while you are there.
When the water pump and timing chains we're done, I did the coil packs and plugs, which was probably a year and a half ago I believe. But I am going to throw a set in again. I was just looking to save a little money, valve covers are $100. Each..

What’s the problem with them? Just leaking?

You can just buy all the seals and replace them 🤷🏻‍♂️

The seals around the vvts just will not, seat flush in the rear valve cover anymore, this is the second time around. Redoing them.. the front one is also seeping..

"I would use the OEM, but if you want more constructive criticism, post links to the parts that you are considering."

I didn't have any particular brand in mind, I was looking at several aftermarket.. I did find some brand new ones on eBay that are OEM the guy has had them sitting in the garage for 5 years
Still in the original box, still wrapped in plastic, from the factory.. I am considering them..

Did you replace the seals with ford ones or aftermarket? The aftermarket ones have terrible fitament and longevity. Be sure to use the correct drivers and knock them in straight and they won’t leak. I have replaced seals on some of these with 30,000 hours or more and they still seal well reusing the covers

Been using Fel-pro., I know the new covers, will be coming with all the seals in place..

There's a pair of Motorcraft on eBay, just a little unsure, because they've been sitting around for the last 5 years, in the guy's garage, still in the box.. I'd be saving about $75 bucks..
I’d be skeptical about anything on eBay, unless it comes directly from a ford dealer

I know a lot of things, are obviously counterfeit and bogus on there.. I wasn't sure with the valve covers, they had the stamping and all inside.
