Valeo wiper blades

It's not really free. The unusual package size when you ship them will negate the cost savings, unless you are within a reasonable driving distance to Groton, CT, then it's just offset by gas money.
Sure it is - I jsut drop those in with my oil change kit I return. The key to the FCP Euro thing is to combine shipping. I get my oil change kits, cabin filters, plugs and f/r wipers there. But yes, if you were just doing wipers, not worth it.

Actually, thinking on it, if you just put them in small flat rate box for about $7 (just bend them to fit should work), that's not a bad deal if you do f/r so ~$30 or so for wipers with a $7 shipping fee so $23 back as a "rebate".

Got the blades today.
No rain predicted for all week so I'm in no rush to install them.
You could always use the windshield washer button and see how well they clean. Sometimes new ones aren't that great, but once I wipe them down with some isopropyl alcohol, they're fine.

Never thought of that! Thanks.
Probably a little something still on them from the manufacturing process.

Valeo is a huge Tier 1 supplier of numerous automotive components on a par with Tenneco, Bosch, Continental, ect..

They've base in, (France) been focused mostly on Europe until the past decade or so.
Valeo bought out a long time supplier to Nissan and Subaru - Ichikoh. They are a lighting supplier to them. Clarion, also a long time Nissan-Subaru supplier but they also have been supplying Honda and Ford has been bought out by a another French firm. Fareucia now owns Clarion.

Conti has been making inroads into Japan, Bosch and Denso have an long standing relationship with each other. Honda has been using more ATE brakes and Conti tires instead of their usual Nissin/Akebono and Bridgestone/Dunlop. Toyota has been buying from Tenneco/Driv for a while.

You're welcome. Not my idea of course, just one of those tips out there on how to get the most out of your wiper blades.

I really think using an additive helps. Since I've been using P21S booster my wipers seem to stay quieter longer and more time in between cleaning.

Wiper blades don't fit in the flat rate boxes, unless you cut them into pieces. Then it's a question whether they are going to provide you with the credit or not

I fit mine in a large one with my oil no problem.
But the small $7 one, wiper blades don't fit.

A USPS large flat rate box is 12″ x 12″ x 5 1/2″ , that that is around $20

Fedex Large box is 8-3/4" x 7-3/4" x 11-1/4" also, around $20...

So... I still fail to see the significant cost savings, since the valeo blades for your car is around $23, and still the wiper blades are longer than a large flat rate box (24" and 19"), putting it diagonal inside isn't going to give you another 12" to play with.

They are beams so they just "curl up" and fit easily in the large one without damaging them - I've done it. I combine wipers with my oil change kit I return so easily worth it. I'll have to see about the smaller boxes next time but you're probably right on not working with the smaller boxes.

I installed the wiper blades on both cars.
They have the hook type that just slide on and click into place.
But this time as opposed to other blades there was no click just kind of a muted sound.
They seem to be on tight.
I ran them at the highest speed and they didn't come off.
I always keep the old ones in the trunk.
Being in snow country they could get damaged and at least the old ones are good enough to keep driving in a storm.

I took the blades off and reinstalled them using more force.
This time they clicked on.
I have never had to do this with other brands.

I always liked the J hooks on the wife's caddy, they are as easy as they come. My Buick has the pinch tab which aren't to bad either. I hate the ones on my Sierra with the side pins, sometimes they can be a pain depending on the blades being installed.

Or maybe some of us are just getting weaker.
I'm 73 and not as strong as I used to be.

I'm not old but not young either and I've definitely noticed that the force needed to get a positive lock on these things for many brands is much higher than say a decade or more ago, maybe the plastic is harder now???
