Newbe here, howdy ya'll.

Bought an Audi A4 1.8t w/95k miles 2 years ago. First thing I did was an oil flush and ran synthetic. Lots of sludge came out with that first flush. I’ve flushed twice since then and the sludge seems to be gone. At 126k miles the oil pump failed due to a clogged sump screen. (That’s a 7 ½ hour job on this engine) Turns out the screen was clogged with flakes (varnish or coke, I guess). The turbo is also damaged, so that’s being replaced as well. That’s a brief history, now my question:

When I get the car back next week, would it be a good idea to run a full “over 100k mile routine” of Auto RX? This stuff sounds like what the engine needs, but my concern is those flakes. When Auto RX starts cleaning up in there, will it be breaking those flakes loose to get caught in the sump screen, or is it the miracle cure and will dissolve it? (guess that’s 2 questions!)

ARX is supposed to clean gently, without breaking flakes off, so you shouldn't have to worry about that. It supposed to liquify sludge and the like. It sounds like that treatment may be just what your car needs.

Hopefully, people with ARX experiences on this engine can chime in too.

That's what ARx did to the "sludge"(I assume it to be..remnants perhaps from the 5-20k free dealer dino days)in my 1.8T. When I poured off the 2k mile cleanse oil using my Tempo oil boy, the bottom portion of the oil was somewhat thicker to pour out, and this was from a hotly drained oil.

The car was driven for 22 miles and then car sat for 10min immediately before the Tempo procedure. Same goes for the poured off oil from the filter, goowier/thicker bottom portion drained.

Thank goodness for Auto-Rx...a "pre-emptive strike" before a full blown "sludge" problem.

We have a '92 Olds Bravada w/over 200K on the V-6 engine. We have kept it well maintained and it has had no major engine problems and uses no oil.
However I have noticed that the oil become very dirtly looking, very quickly. Easily within 1k miles after oil change. I assume this is due to slugde contaminating the clean oil. I am concidering adding some type of engine oil detergent additive before the next oil change. Is this advisable? If so, is the Auto-RX what I should use? Advice greatly appreciated.Thanks.
