VA gasoline prices

Mama Bear and I are heading out to VA next week and I have a question about gasoline pricing. Is there a discount on gas if you pay cash vs. credit card, and if so, how much??

I have never seen a gas station here in Canada offering 2 different prices for cash/credit but the Detroit TV stations sometimes show differences in their gas prices in MI.

Should I bring $U.S. to pay for gasoline or will the MasterCard be the preferred method?

Go Mastercard. Most stations have no difference in price in VA. You get the best exchange rate with an e-transaction like a credit/debit card...and given the exchange rate, you're going to feel like gas is a bargain here!

Shop around...about $3.55 US at the WaWa on the corner here in VB...and the coffee is good too...

One other thought...don't go more than about 5 over the speed limit...lots of towns are raising enforcement thresholds on traffic violations to increase revenue...

Here in Maryland, some stations (maybe 1/4) will charge $0.05 less per gallon if you pay cash. I still pay credit.

Around Central Ohio I haven't seen the "discount for cash" bit in years.

One Shell station close to me has a car wash - they have 4 different prices for 87 unleaded - cash/credit then cash/credit with a car wash! Talk about confusing!

Where are you headed in VA? Gas is somewhere around $3.79 for 87 here in Fairfax with is the suburbs west of DC.

Richmond area is around 3.70 for regular 3.90-4 for premium. Best prices are Wawa or Sheetz stores. No difference between cash and credit card

Down here in south FL there is an extra 5 cents per gallon if you pay with credit card.

Went up to $3.72 to 3.79 in KC today depending on which side of the state line you are on. That is a 15 cent jump. Bites!

No stations that I see are upcharging for CC use.
