So heard a few members say maybe bad pcv valve can cause excessive oil consumption. Think the valve is on the right valve cover ( without yellow dipstick) there is a larger hose all cracked. Not sure if thats the actual hose.. or just insulation.

I was 30 miles from home when I took pics and need to stand on a cinder block to start pulling hoses off.

Anybody familiar with the system on my 2001 f350 superduty v 10 ?

Just replace the hose. See that catch take with the 6C324 number? Take that to your parts department and they will thank you. But the service number should be YC3Z-6C324-DA. You can get teh valve by itself, but those hoses fall apart and cause all sorts of issues.

The oil filter adapter on many of the V10's, tends to suddenly leak and deplete the engine's oil. Take a very good look at yours.
With my 5.4 it put a LOT of oil into the coolant when it failed. Like all of it. And quickly. I only noticed because there was a weird emulsified puddle on the ground. I had literally checked the oil 20 miles previous.

Thanks I was going to take it apart. Its easier to just stop at the dealer and buy a new one. Thanks

That looks fine on mine. Zero drips anywhere.

Going to just change oil again as the few quarts of oil that came out looked like death..
