Despite narrowing a seeping oil leak in the Miata to the CAS o-ring, a known issue in older Miata's, my mechanic added a UV dye to the oil. It turns out they could not see the dye even after running the car for 40min.

A few weeks ago I put in fresh PU. What say you? Should I change the oil or leave the dye in and run it a full oci? One of the mechanic's underlings said it would be OK, but did not sound 100% confident.

I did not ask but online it looks like most doses are 1oz. The sump size is 3.5 qts.

The UV dye is widely used in machinery to trace hard to find leaks. I've used it in refrigeration machinery. There is no recommendation for an early oil change with any I've seen.

Yep just had to put that in the 2012 focus last week due to a leaking valve cover.
