I can buy a package of Lubegard Platinum Universal Flush & Protect Performance Pack for Automatic Transmissions Part# 98010 for a good price on Ebay.

I will use the ATF Protectant in the E430 transmission, but I don't plan to use the flush because I don't plan to flush the transmission.

My question is anybody used the Lubegard transmission flush in the engine with good result ?

Is Lubegard Platinum Universal ATF Protectant is safe/good to use in the transmission ?

Why would you risk it, and if you feel you need to flush or clean your engine, use Auto-Rx. Any flush runs the risk of loosening large flakes of crud which might clog oil passages.

I am a fan of putting nothing in the engine oil unless its Auto-Rx, and then with high quality synthetic oil, that might not be needed either.

The reason I asked this question is because Amsoil has Engine and Transmission Flush in 1 bottle, it can be used to flush either the engine or transmission. There are some posts about it, below is one of the posts

Lubegard has two separate flush products, one is engine flush and the other is transmission flush. I don't know which one is stronger, my guess is engine flush is stronger but I can be wrong.

I'll use 1/2 of 10oz bottle Lubegard transmission flush in a 5.5 quarts sump with engine running at idle for about 25-30 minutes, or drive the car for 20-25 miles on highway before drain the oil.

The reason is I like to use Lubegard Universal ATF Protectant in the E430 transmission to prolong the life of the transmission and extend the time of flushing the ATF fluid to 80k miles or longer. I found one guy is selling the Flush and Protectant package for the price of Protectant only, it means the Flush is free and I like to find a way to use it.

Thanks, there is a Transtar about 18 miles from my house. I will call them on Monday to see if the have Lubegard Platinum Universal Flush & Protect Performance Pack for Automatic Transmissions Part# 98010.

Amsoil Engine and Transmission Flush can be used in either engine or transmission, but Lubegard is different. This is their respond to the question about using Transmission Flush in engine:

"Our Engine Flush and Transmission Flush were designed for use in specific applications and are not interchangeable."

From this respond I think Lubegard Transmission Flush is milder than Engine Flush. If I use Lubegard Transmission Flush in engine then I should leave it in there much longer than 10-15 minutes with engine idle.
