Used tire orientation for even tread wear

I bought some Sumitomo tires on marketplace for cheap. These will go on my Camry Hybrid for summer highway commuting. Two of the tires have some feathering wear on one side.

Is it best to mount the feather wear on the outside and which direction should the sawtooth go to counter and wear evenly? The camry seems to wear rear tires very evenly as typical for a FWD and will feather the inside of the front tires if not rotated.

Photos please!
IDK if there is a correct placement for unevenly worn, scalped, feathered tires. Someone may know but I think it’s hit or miss. Most likely the tires will be noisy no matter what you do. And to have them wear-in, may not happen.

You want the tires oriented such that the 'feather' hits the pavement first. Most of this kind of wear is caused by a slight misalignment - usually toe, and since most people apply the most torque when driving, as opposed to braking, that is what dominates the wear pattern you want to undo. It's going to be noisy for a while as the pattern wears off.

You also want the feathering on the inside.

Two are perfect, and two are like this one. I was thinking of putting two feathered ones on the rear. They were so cheap i couldn't say no.

Does your car have existing alignment issue? If so, that will tell you which side you should put inward vs outward. Every car is different and I have cars wearing outside first and I also have cars wearing inside first.
