Used / clogged fuel filter picture

Since there isn't a fuel filter section. I thought maybe this was the appropriate forum.

My '01 Dodge Grand Caravan 3.8L AWD with 90K miles was missing during acceleration. I replaced the original fuel filter and it cured it. Here is a picture of the inside of the filter. Interesting that it flows inside-out vs. an oil filter outside-in. No big chunks, but the media was very dirty.

Also interesting that the OEM original filter had Fram molded inside the filter housing. You would never know it unless you cut it open.

interesting..I have a 92 mits mirage 119k miles on the original fuel filter. I've been lazy to change it. I see the link says memphis in it.

That picture makes me want to replace the fuel filter in my truck right now.

Grease: If those plants get much larger you'll have to re-pot them in a bigger boat.

I'm giving you a hard time about it but I used to have several vehicles on the driveway that were slowly returning to the Earth.

i got 164,000 miles on the OEM Denso filter on my car, time to head out to Toyota to get one this week...

I changed the filter on my wife's car, the difference was hugely noticable, I wish I could have cut it apart, but I threw it away.

I just replaced the fuel filter on my Taurus at 112k miles - I'm not sure if it's the OEM filter or not, but I could barely blow through the thing. I still have it so maybe I'll cut it apart.

Mine was a dense tough plastic about an inch and a half in diameter and three inches long.

I took a hack saw to it.

Thinking about it some more the flow is inside-out because there is no mesh center tube so it would want to collapse if it flowed the other way.

i'm trying to cut open a Israeli-made Purolator filter with a hacksaw, it's pretty thick, i'm going to throw in the towel and rent the 2" pipe cutter from Home Depot or the $17 4" cutter at Harbor Freight.

A partly clogged fuel filter puts much more strain on the fuel pump than does an easy flowing one.

I change 'em out no later than once every 30,000 miles on our cars. Lots cheaper than are modern fuel pumps!

I just rented a pipe cutter from Home Depot, and i cut open my old OEM Denso fuel filter, and an aftermarket one. I have a comparision pic, i need a place to upload it. The Israeli filter is decent, but the OEM one looked like it had better media.
