You nailed it, and when I see posts "my car has XXX,XXX amount of miles and it needed nothing except gas and oil" I take it with a huge grain of salt. To me that statement means the car is a POS and needs tons of work, but for many people that's a mark of a reliable car. The moment you mention any work, the car becomes unreliable in their mind.

Well, I shouldn't really be complaining, as I use this to my advantage when buying used vehicles

For as hard as it sounds like it gets driven it's not too bad. The only things that would be annoyed about having to fix would be the AC and the alternator. Also, the tailgate squeaking is annoying but that's pretty common with Ford SUVs.
