Just recently applied for my daughter's passport (both the book and card) and the passport book came in yesterday, a turn-around time, from application to mailbox, of just under three weeks! Much better than the backlog a few years ago. We didn't pay for expedited processing, as $95 was high enough already.

We're still waiting for her Passport Card, but it'll probably be here soon. The cards are more convenient for trips to Canada.

We ordered our passports in Feb. We recieved the passports in about 3 1/2 weeks. The passport cards came a day or two later. And our birth certificates arrived a couple of days after the passport cards..

My wife and I needed to get extra pages added to our passports. That took 10 days and best of all didn't cost anything.

I'm hoping for that good luck for oilBabe and the kids. Her ex-husband wouldn't sign off for the just turned 16 year old daughter to get one. Once she turned 16, she didn't need him any more. All three of them needed either a new passport or a name change in the case of oilBabe.

They are going on a mission trip with the church out of the country this summer. We paid more than $95/per.

I got my US pp and pp card both at the same time, after exactly 15 days, under normal processing.

in order to get it in 24 hrs, one has to travel to one of the National Passport Ctrs in person, AND be able to present an itinerary and/or tickets for the planned air travel/journey.

That's it, now I'm going to have to complain and have the State Dept. explain the unacceptable delay of my daughter's passport!

After getting the photos and just making it to the County Clerk's Office, just 15 minutes before closing, I found out I couldn't pay cash. The CCO took cash for the $25 execution fee, but I needed a money order or check for the State Department. I had to come back the next day with the MO.

Yeah, both my wife and I had to sign, under witness, and raise our right hands. Ironically, they wouldn't take our passports cards as ID, because they don't have a signature!

I got one in three hours. I had to pay an extra I believe $60 over the standard fee if you go to certain sites.

There was this very long line and no guarantee of getting it that day. However a connected federal employee hooked me up.

My wife would have killed me as I discovered 18 hours before take off this winter that my passport was expired for a year.

I have to say that I've been pleased with the passport processing overall, including the new ID card.

Now my passport photo.....

UPDATE: Her birth certificate came back yesterday, and her passport card today. Pretty good service, all in all.

Montréal, here we come!

Fiancee just got hers in 3 hours, too, right after being sworn in as a US citizen.

what worried me most was having to mail my original Naturalization Certificate right after becoming a US citizen, along with the pp application... I was relieved when I got it back.

Don't wear gray, if you're getting a passport card, as the card itself is gray. I had a gray shirt on for my photo and all you see in the photo is my floating head!
