It is hard to give you a brand that is totally made in america. All vendors use overseas companies for low volumn special applications. The NAPA GOLD for my miata is japaneese quality or better and made in america. I know for other cars they have some overseas made filters. Best to look at the filter before you buy and judge quality and place of manufacture.

Something sorta related, sorta not. When comparing OIL filters, folks at these boards know to compare total media areas, among other things. How about measuring a single AIR filter pleat, multiplying by the number of pleats, and comparing same to competitors' filters? Seems obvious, but nobody (including myself) has ever thought to mention this, at least to my knowledge.

Just to be picky, Amsoil full-flow oil filters are made by Clarcor Corp. which also makes Baldwin and Hastings filters, all in Kearny, NE. Amsoil bypass filters are made by a company owned by the owner of Amsoil.
