UOA?? what does one cost

roughly $20 to $40 (and up) depending on which lab and what tests and stuff.

Alleleujah! A like minded thinker. Id rather pay some guy $20 to keep me from eating junk food than to worry too much about some car. $20 is like 3 oil changes for me. I gotta worry more about what goes in and out of ME let alone the cars. Haha!

True, if all you want to do is change you oil every 3K. However, I know of at least one case of a friend who found a head gasket problem via a UOA. And I like to know what is going on inside my engine, and if the oil that I'm using really is protecting it and keeping wear numbers low. Since I run extended OCI's, it makes sense to get a handle on what the engine/oil combination is doing so I don't change it too soon or...too late.
