UOA Sampling

Lost the bottle for sampling when I change the oil in the Forester, didn't think of it until I already had the oil in the drain pan.

I covered the pan so no dirt can accumulate and when the new kit gets here in a day or so I will pull a sample and mail it off.

How much do you think this will effect any data?

Pan had minimal oil residue from a previous change. Also beware the adds that say "Castrol Edge" with a black bottle. As I found out it is not Edge. It is Syntec now with Edge Technology or something like that. Either way it is SN/GF-5 so it can't be all that bad I hope.

I would just put some of the used oil in a small jar, until the kit arrives and dispose of the rest. You can fill the sample bottle from the clean jar.
