Hello

Attached here is my first UOA. The car has recently had a refresh by the previous owner. So this is only the second oil change I believe.

VOA of this brand can be found here https://bobistheoilguy.com/forums/threads/gulf-formula-ule-5w-40-voa.386204/

any thoughts?

thanks

I did a short check as the car is very new to me.

I thought the silicon / oxidisation after 1500km was a little high?

Just curious, does your engine have the IMS bearing? If so, which generation and did you replace it with an aftermarket version?
LN Engineering IMS Solution. Was installed by previous owner 2016. There's a few options.
1. IMS Solution
2. LN Has a replacement bearing that isn't oil feed like the solution
3. European parts (cannot remember the name as I type) which roller bearing
4. Many people will tell you it isn't a "thing" and you're wasting your money.

Thanks, I drive an '06 Cayman S with the original (3rd generation) IMS bearing and I'm not worrying about it with 95K on the clock.

"All you can really do anyway is pop the outer seal off. Otherwise you're splitting the case."

Yes, big job. At that point you're going to do a rebuild including nikasil-coated cylinder bores... $$$. There is a British mad scientist mechanic who built a piece of equipment that will machine the case from the outside to accomodate bearing replacement thus avoiding splitting the case, but shipping the car to Britain is a bit too much ;-) . Third generation IMS bearing failure rate is extremely low. I'm not losing sleep. Love the car!
