If it did, it would be due to GM quality, not oil.I’m just paranoid with dropping 2 lifters back to back, 6 months 2 days, and 7,500 miles apart.

i run almost 20 of these motors on 5w30 without issue. just had a truck do 11.7K miles on HPL PCEO 5w30. truck has 130k on it.I’m just paranoid with dropping 2 lifters back to back, 6 months 2 days, and 7,500 miles apart.
I won’t argue that. They’re plagued with lifter issues. If it did, it would be due to GM quality, not oil.
Wouldn’t that be reason to keep it?
I could see the owner losing faith in the vehicle in a big repair even though in warranty, give pause to what could happen out of warranty.Wouldn’t that be reason to keep it?
5k miles oil changes or less. Wish I'd done the used oil analysis sooner. But my lifters are good so far!I agree with some of what you said, however a used oil analysis from time to time can be beneficial especially when driving patterns change as in the case of my wife retiring. I ended up shortening the OCI as a result of a recent report. It can also monitor poor air filtration, coolant getting into the oil, fuel dilution, etc. Having said that I'm not a fan of stretching out OCI's as long as possible. In another used oil analysis I discovered a 3 year OCI will work just fine, I might even go a little longer.Time to hide.
My wife's Hyundai Sonata seized up on its first 0w20 OCI. Likely a coincidence also but it seems more plausible than the other way around.I ordered a 3 pack 5qt containers of Mobil 1 Extended Performance 0w20. Walmart had it marked for $69.99, and I got 10% cash back.
For the next few changes that’s what she’ll be running. Probably 5-7,000 miles.
Don't want to delete the AFM?Yes unfortunately
I want too, but I didn’t have the extra $1500-2,000 laying around especially since GM was paying this time around.Don't want to delete the AFM?
Looks like a good candidate for Valvoline Restore and Protect5k miles oil changes or less. Wish I'd done the used oil analysis sooner. But my lifters are good so far!

It still runs good, but I'm just going to prep a spare 5.3 (I have 2 of them) and replace all the common failures before swapping to future proof the truck for a while.Looks like a good candidate for Valvoline Restore and Protect
