Here's an Ultra8 3612908 (Nippon Filter) purchased from NAPA with ~5,000 miles using NAPA Synthetic Blend 5w-20 from a 2010 Hyundai Elantra.

Observations: The can is very thick and sturdy. It feels like a very well built filter, though there is no published efficiency data that I could find. This filter is made in China.

Is that ADBV two tone colored?

The filter looks pretty well built.

Originally, it looked all orange, but part of it turned brown after being used (looks black in the picture due to poor lighting - I should start doing these in the daytime). This is the first time I have ever seen that. The ADBV is on the thin side but seals fine and was still holding oil when I cut it open.

Yeah, that is strange. Never seen that either.

It's a fine looking filter media. I don't see a prv? The end of the media/center tube isnt blocked off like I've seen on no prv filters before.
Is it welded to the inside of the can?

It is a bit hard to tell in the picture, but yes the valve is there at the bottom of the can. A small portion of the spring is visible when looking at it from the top. From the bottom it looks like the dome end bypass seen on the OE Hyundai filter.

Is that a nitrile ADBV?
I heard some of the new NAPA Golds come now with nitrile. Who makes NAPA Gold and Silver these days? Maybe it's the same supplier as Napa circa 2019.
Or, could it be a Premium Guard product?

Wix is still the supplier for the Napa brand filters, and most have silicone ADBVs. This came from a completely different product line distributed through Napa.

I think the ADBV is nitrile based on how it feels. Still pliable, but a bit stiffer than the Fram and OE filters which are known to use silicone.

Is this Nippon as in Nippon Denso?
No, it is a different manufacturer.
