UK story about anger between EV owners at public charging stations

Not sure I agree--as a near-native New Englander I can attest that many of us will go out of our way to ignore one another.

If I'm standing in line I would find it "strange" if someone tried to start a conversation with me.
It's interesting that you say that. There is a YouTube channel that has two British friends host. They were in the USA recently and were shocked how many people said hello and asked about where they were from etc. They said if you did that in the UK people would look at you weird.

What part of the US?

You can call BS, but I have learned that manors and etiquette are dying (dead?). Folks are not taught to wait, to respect others, or
Yesterday at the costco jewelry kiosk, someone places our cart's contents on the glass jewelry countertop and walks off with the cart. We were right on the other side. Never saw it as we were both looking at shiny things.

The charge stations had real trouble here in FL during the last hurricane. A long line and angry motorists encouraging others to take a partial charge and make space for others. I'm surprised nobody was killed.

Another factor to consider here is the source - the Daily Express is infamous for this kind of junk "journalism", which amounts to little more than trawling social media for any snippets that include a divisive opinion and turning it into "news". They will whip it up well beyond the reality of what happened with CAPITALIZED words and unnecessary superlatives, throw in some barely-relevant images and then sit back and watch the seething fury in the comments section. It's click-baiting posing as journalism.

It's either that or predicting the worse winter in decades, which never comes but we Brits love a weather story...

No doubt there are EV space disputes, just like there are disputes in shopping mall parking lots and grocery store queues. But because "EV", it's a new thing apparently, and so SHOCKING too.

Practicing The Golden Rule would reduce a lot of rage.
"Do to others as you would have the do unto you".
Modern translation, "Treat others the way you want to be treated". It works on both sides of the charging station...

Less burning fossil fuel problems?
Is there something wrong with fossil fuels?
Is there something wrong with nuclear?
I don’t understand I could care less about fossil fuels, earth, friendly fuels I’m looking for a higher standard of living not lower.

The green movement is more like a cult, not backed by any science except to make peoples lives, miserable and costly, except for the rich.

I’m sure if you read the article you should be able to decipher the fact that there’s an energy shortage in this world while all the proponents of this toxic lithium battery culture is ignorant to the fact that the electric grid in this world cannot even support 20% EV cars and in the meantime make middle class and lower class people pay through the nose for wealthy people to get rich off nothing more than an agenda.

I can’t wait, can’t wait for the energy shortages to start in this country and watch everybody pushing this agenda start stumbling over each other.

I’ve made clear 100 times I have nothing at all against electric vehicles but come on already. Let’s be smart about it for goodness sakes the wind isnt blowing in the UK and they have major problems now because the nuclear plants they relied on in France aren’t all online right now geez like … lol
Just having fun here, I’ll come back in 10 years. Assuming I’m still alive and laugh at the rotating blackouts, or the politicians, backpedaling and delaying the ban of selling gasoline automobiles and certain states.
Sooner or later, the voters always wake up, even though it’s always later🤣

The science behind how the “green sacrifice” we will be forced to make is going to benefit the environment is quite simply not even science. Not with Russia, China, India and most of the third world not going along with any of this…

Yep those countries are gonna have a major advantage over us again unless the voters wake up sooner rather than later, sometimes they do🤪

What surprised me is a dozen new 'big' gas stations... with coin and debit tire pumps and ice freezers, convenience stores(deli pizzas coffee sandwiches besides the overprice junk food), tourist shopping, and carwashes..... have opened locally in the past couple years. None added electric car chargers. Only 1 newish station in the beachfront city had a charge station with 4-5 chargers on the side of the building, and usually see a couple vehicle charging.

I don't care for electric cars and don't plan on ever buying one. Front a business standpoint, I don't see why all these brand new gas stations didn't add 2-4 fast chargers for all make/models of plug-in hybrids or full electrics. What does 4 quick charges cost when building a million dollar convenience store car wash gas station?

Maybe they dont want precious parking space taken up by recharging stations for EVs?
More or less, these service stations make money on selling products, not on selling fuel. They know to a "T" how along the average customer spends in the store and gas pump making room for the next vehicle to take the place of the last vehicle, start fueling and spending money on products in the store. Much like an assembly line. IN and out... but if you have EVs taking up space for 30 minutes at a time... well then... they start decreasing their revenue and sales possibilities by having parking spaces tied up..

Maybe the gubbermint will force the service stations to get rid of their car wash installations since they waste a precious resource and use the space for chargers?

Wouldn’t surprise me the least bit

Circle K has done a great with combo charging/ fuel stations.

You've got approximately 12 more minutes to sell an EV customer extra services than an Ice customer.
