I have an E4od that is getting a code 62 converter clutch slippage. This is causing hard shifting only between 2to3 and 3to4th gears. It only shifts hard when at operating temp. Shifts great when cold. Would a type f fluid help the torque converter slippage which would then prevent the high line pressure causing the hard shifting? I know this may be a band-aid but the truck is only driven 2k miles per year.

But it shifts great when cold? Sounds to me you need to go through everything electrical to rule out some wire corrosion or dead sensor.

As ATF warms up, it thins. So, you might have a fluid that has sheared plenty and doesn't provide enough pressure. Flush the fluid.

Scanned for codes (Code 62 converter and 32 egr) and checked connections on vss, mlps, tps. No corrosion. Trans has been flushed with Maxlife. No other shift problems. 1 to 2 always shifts good.
