Two new Euro oil at my local Walmart

These two have been on shelves for a while Around here.

They actually cleared out the QS 5W-40 a few years ago. A buddy of mine in El Paso got like 30 jugs.
Yes, they did. Appeared to be something to do with transition to SP. I got something like 10 or 12 jugs for my wife's Edge and have been working through it. Should last as long as we have the vehicle.

Walmart 'cleared' the QS Euro 5w40 that was SN rated a few years ago. I think some guys got 5 qt. jugs for $7 each while others paid $13 IIRC.

I've seen those 2 oils (VW 502/504/505 spec) at my local but I have not seen a VW 507 spec oil yet.

Good for my Jetta but not so much our Tiguan.

I really shouldn't NEED to buy any more oil right now as I have enough stash for about 8 years worth of changes (even have some GC left ) on my current stable of 3 cars. But with prices like these right now on some dang good oils, I WANT to. Alas, the curse of being a BITOGer :p.

What specifically needs the 507? 504 and 507 are considered interchangable as they are both low SAPS for aftertreatment component life and meet Euro IV. At least thats my understanding and why the 2 are combined approvals on lots of oils, ie; 504.00/507.00. Also, these approvals are almost all 30wt and you won't find a 40wt. easily if at all.

504.00 - VW Gas
507.00 - VW Diesel.
It's a VW thing but as you alluded to both are in the realm of ACEA C3.

On an aside being a 30 grade is a requirement of the specification. A "40 grade version" of 504.00 would be 511.00

And in good ole VW fashion, VW 508.00 is gas and 509.00 is diesel.

BUT, VW 511.00 is both gas and diesel 😂
