Wow, just blown away by this discussion. FRAM has never failed to stand behind any oil filter product when used as it is supposed to be. Are you guys all lawyers with incredible warranty law experience? Your all splitting hairs. If your engine is healthy, you use the correct oil and a Fram filter and the engine fails because of a filter defect, we will stand behind it. We do not warranty failures caused by sticking pressure relief valves,incorrect part number for application, sludged up engines or a failure in maintenance. If you believe otherwise, i would challenge you to show me an example.

Motorking, you're not really "blown away". I don't believe it. You live in the real world like us, and you know companies will use any excuse to wiggle out of obligations.
It usually goes kind of like this:
Engine Maker says "Your engine failed, and we suspect the oil filter, so not our fault, warranty denied.", whether right or not, doesn't matter to them.
Oil filter maker says "Our filter seems fine to us, tell the engine maker it's their warranty problem, not ours."
Then, both filter maker and engine maker dares the consumer to hire a $20,000 lawyer and play detective in court over a year or so. Most consumers aren't going to do that, and EVERYBODY knows that. Consumer loses, companies sit smug.

Motorking, I don't see where anyone posted they are lawyers with incredible warranty law experience in this thread - I challenge you to use the "quote" feature to demonstrate otherwise. It is precisely why the posted warranties need clarification by some - none of the discussion is by anyone claiming to be a legal expert in this thread.
So Motorking can you pass along the question for clarification on the posted verbiage in those two warranties available through those web links posted & discussed to the appropriate legal team(s) at Fram & Champion Laboratories to really answer the question through clarification, then post the response back here?

OMG.... who cares! How many have actually filed a warranty claim? There is no manufacturing defect [oil filter] that will cause any appreciable engine damage worthy of claiming... short of debris left inside the filter (highly unlikely). That and 99.999% people never cut open their filters.

Good folks, no judge is going to hear your oil filter cases, and you aren't paying a lawyer $250/hr to represent you. Honda says one year as well as 2x.
I would like to see Motorking here more to answer oil filter technical questions. Like are my aging
Fram Ultras, rust free, still good to use? Have they made any improvements or changes in the Ultra? Are the inlet holes big enough? I know they are but others are stubborn. etc.

Motorking has been a bit of a "jack of all trades"-from running a motorports (racing) team, to running his own auto shop, even maintaining Detroit's light rail system-Jay is a multi-talented guy for sure! We're LUCKY to have him on here to answer questions, whether it's part of his job, or not.
