Nono, I was referring to the other modifications to the vic. Like the rim and oddball tires etc.

The Lightning vic does not have a twin screw, btw. It has the factory Lightning Eaton M112.
It has mismatched rins because the rear are draglites with slicks.

Check out vids of ESS TS setups on E46 3-Series and you will get an idea of how my supercharger kit began... Granted, a 330Ci with a TS3+ is still making less power than my 328, but that is why I opened her up

For whatever reason, fellow ESS owners seem...hesitant...to "screw" with their blower (pun intended).

I really want to make my girl's '93 Grand Marquis (40k miles!) a beast... A 5.4 swap with a GT500's blower would do the trick, but I am not so sure she.would go for it... I can't imagine why!

I'll take turbo whistle anyday. I never cared for the roots s/c blender sound, twin screws sound better IMO.

I prefer quiet, as I like sleepers.

Since the newer Eaton TVS units are super quiet that's my choice.

It's even on the new GT500 so it must be good, eh Ben?

Honestly, the whooshing of the open element cone filter drowns out the sound of my Lysholm unit. Add in the catless exhaust and the supercharger becomes completely inaudible.

At full song, the Eaton on my Marauder sounds almost identical to the first video... As long a I'm easy on the throttle(what most would refer to as normal driving), it doesn't make more than a whisper...

At the drag strip the unknowing rail birds went wild when I launched and the SC whine kicked in...

Yeah, thats what I was going to add. In most setups with this type of S/C, the unit is bypassed at low throttle positions; so it makes little to no noticeable noise.

You couldn't even hear the Buick's when it was bone stock, now with the smaller pulley, CAI, tune and exhaust mods at WOT that thing is loud.

It was my understanding that many superchargers were loud because they used straight cut gears, and by the time they became common on passenger cars, they switched to a different type of gear which produced less noise.

Twin screw units use worm gears, and the better units (Lysholm, Eaton) are very different sounding compared to centrifugal units. Plus, with TS units you get peak boost just off idle and hold thru redline, if you match the unit to the engine properly.
