Turning off AC before engine shutoff?

If you are truly trying to dry it out.. it is the compressor that needs to be shut off - otherwise you are just making it "wetter" by letting in fresh air. Recirc air is more dry in operation as it takes multiple trips thru the evap core to squeeze out more moisture and get the air colder. This leads to less moisture collection and draining of said moisture.
