Turbo charged BMW would GC do well i it??

Quick question (Idid use the search not much info on turbos) My boss drives 335IX and wants to do his own Oil changes once the car is out of warranty Would GC be good enough for 2007 335 IX or should he stick with dealer's BMW-Castrol??.
Owners manual does not specify much beyond 5W-40 or 5w30. Would BMW LL-01 spec be OK. The 5W-40 (Belgian Castrol as it was once called) carries the BMW LL-98 spec I think this may be obsolete by now.
This leaves Mobil 1 0W-40 and GC as far as easy to get stuff is concerned, but I doubt if LL-01 spec is all a turbo BMW needs.

LL-01 is all this engine needs, at least according to BMW. GC is as good if not better than the OEM BMW 5w30 oil. Mobil 1 0w-40 would also work fine.

Keep in mind, these engines suffer from excessive fuel dilution and valve deposits... supposedly some boutique oils such as RLI handles these types of issues better, but RLI is not BMW-approved and not "easy to get" unless you mail order.

GC & Mobil 1 0W-40 are the approved options which can be found widely and bought at decent prices.

Although, I strongly recommend Shell Rotella Full Synthetic "T6" 5W-40 Approved API SM & CJ-4.

I will say I recently looked at a VOA on BMW oil in the forum here. It didn't look that exciting.

Of course, I suppose you never know what else might be going on with it, that you cannot see on a simple VOA.

It's more stable due to being group IV/V base, vs. BMW 5w30 oil being group III.

I think the used oil analysis for GC seem somewhat better, too, although it's really hard to compare the performance of two oils just based on UOA alone, so I won't draw any conclusions there.
